My Journey With Cancer
8/21 The Official Diagnosis

Ok, after a weeks worth of tests we finally got the official diagnosis and proper staging. Unfortunately it is allot worse than we thought. The Cancer has spread throughout my body and has affected a few of my other organs, so I officially have Nodular Sclerosing Hodgkin’s Lymphoma STAGE IV. Yeah this isn’t good. The Cancer was found in my lungs, abdomen, hip bones, back, and possibly my brain. An MRI is going to be done to make sure.

Because of this recent diagnosis my chemo has to be started immediately. Next week I get my port, which I will explain about before I get it, and start chemo Thursday. Due to this I may not be moving to back home as soon as I hope, but it all is going to be determined on how well I do with the Chemo.

This has really hit me harder that just finding out me had cancer. Stage II was a little easier to deal with, but the survival and recurrence rates drop pretty significantly with stage IV from 90% to something between 50%-70%. This is just tumbling out of control, but it is time to get started with curing this. I hope chemo doesn’t whoop my ass cause school is starting soon and I’m not going to let this hold me back!
